The agency was founded in 1980 and was operated with just one employee from a small office premises located down Gregory’s Road in Colombo.

From its humble beginnings the agency grew from strength to strength and in the year 1984, registered with all Sri Lankan media institutions as a fully fledged advertising agency.

In 1996, the agency received BOI status and joined forces with Gardener Dixon Hall of Australia, a renowned agency at that time with an impressive track record, with the objective to acquire international experience and expertise to capitalize on the increasing demand of creative and strategic advertising for the Sri Lankan market.

After the join venture, the agency was changed to ABS Gardener Dixon Hall, and handles advertising and media representation for the entire Abans Group as well as a few other prestigious clients.

Now ABS GDH is the Sri Lankan representative for some of the world’s biggest and most popular brands such as LG, JVC, Philips, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Electrolux, Hoover, Haier etc.
